Oulton Park Round 2

Oulton Park complete.
Great start to the race weekend with ideal weather on the test day.

Race weekend proved to be challenging due to weather conditons.
This meant the whole weekend was deemed a Wet Race.

This caused a few track issues and riders being unable to finish races.

First time at Oulton Park and what an eye opener this was, the track is a serious place to learn. However, got on well with the track and learning another newer SV, which certainly helped me with lap times. The weather was a mixed bag making consistency hard to achieve.  3 solid race finishes and climbed up 1 place in the point now running 6th overall

My first meeting of the season was at the Oulton Park Circuit in Cheshire.  The initial practice day went well and I found a good rhythm with my 650cc Kawasaki ER6 Supertwin. The first race day was tricky, with wet weather and the realisation that my little 'Kwaker' was seriously outgunned by the field off 100hp Aprilia's that made up most of the field.  Regardless, I had a good day (despite finishing last!) and I felt positive for the final. Thankfully I enjoyed dry, mild conditions and I was comfortable on the bike. Starting the races knowing I would finish at or near the back of the grid was okay - I was having fun! Some banzai braking into the first corner saw me over multiple riders which felt great - even if my hard work was undone on the longer straights! Roll on Donington Park!

Challenging start to the weekend with an incident during practice at Knickerbrook; rebuilt the bike but missed qualifying, so started at the back of the grid. Great day racing on Friday; on Saturday, the weather turned for the worse. DNF two races with another off into Hislop's corner.

Another new circuit and a lot of learning done. I managed my quickest lap on the test day which was in amazing conditions. Sadly I had my first off during qualifying and making that 2 over the weekend when I made a rookie mistake in Druids, luckily both crashes were of low consequence. I also managed to finish 11th on the grid (4th in class) during race 1 which is a great achievement for me.
